Zoe Café English School has two sites, located in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka,
and offers English classes taught by native speakers from the U.S. Northwest.
We provide lessons for all ages, from infants to senior citizens, with a focus on improving conversational skills. The welcoming atmosphere creates
a casual and relaxing environment with classes running from Monday through Saturday.
“Zoe” means “life” in Greek, reflecting our mission to make learning a lively and engaging experience.

Ron and Julee King have lived in Hamamatsu, Japan since 2010. They are native English speakers from the northwest region of the United States. They have been teaching English classes to students of all ages at Zoe Café English School near the community center of Izumicho. The classes they offer include both public and private as well as corporate classes, all conducted in an English-only format. Gabriel and Laurel DeLong
Gabriel and Laurel DeLong joined the Zoe Café team in late 2023. They are also native English speakers from the northwest region of the United States. They teach students of all ages, both in public and private settings as well as corporate classes. The class format is English-only. A new branch of Zoe Café has opened in Sanarudai, informally called “Zoe 2.” Gabriel and Laurel have begun scheduling classes and currently have space for more students and class times.
